Taking a Trip!

I am a bit sad to leave London spring for what seem to be a cold New York, I hope there will still be some blooming trees when I return. That said I am really looking forward to it. See you in 12 days.

A Champagne Brunch!

To kick of school holidays I invited some friends for a champagne brunch.
There was sunshine in my living room, great company, homemade food and lots of bottles to empty.

Her!

Spike Jonze's Her has breathtaking cinematic, beautiful colour play, fantastic styling; basically it is one beautiful scene taking over by another. Cute as hell, but conversation wise I though it played a lot on overly romantic - trying to be profound - clichés, which in the end dragged the overall plot down for me.

Though the film does raise important questions about where we as society and individuals are headed.

How to cure loneliness in modern days? It is simple. Rather than spending time with real people in anxiety of another emotional letdown, I rather hang out with my virtual significant other, who pleases me in every way. My confident, the intimate one, who I share all the major and insignificant moments with; my best friend, who I don't have to fear walks away, because unlike real people, it isn't connected to a physical body. But then what happens when this "person" all of a sudden develops a mind of it's own, an idea of who it want's to be and attempt to be something that it is not?

All in all I really enjoyed watching this film, and would definitely recommend go seeing it, for nothing else, then at least for the beautiful imagery.

A Time For Coffee!

These days I am dividing my time between school, my bed and working at the bindery, which is a bit a shame since the weather has been especially beautiful the last week, and completely summer like.
One benefit is all the extra delicious coffee I am drinking to keep up with the pace, I allow myself a little more than usually.

Recently at Embassy East I was offered to try an cappuccino with oat-milk instead of my regular soya and I have to say that although I was hesitant, I became pleasantly surprised. It actually embraces the taste of the coffee in a really good way. Even with a acidity coffee it works. So here is to oatmilk cappuccino.

Hope you all enjoyed the warm weather around Europe this weekend.

The Heart Collection no. 79-86!

It has only been a month since Valentines Day and so the city's ground is full of hearts.

Sunday 9 March 2014

Sunday is... no. 11!

Having a morning coffee in the sun while reading a good book
Going to a place that could possibly seem familiar
Spring
People doing gardening
Taking a walk in a new park with a new friend
Someone being overly causious
and more spring
Today has been such a lovely day, actually the whole of the weekend has just seemed like summer and it makes London a great place to be. Today I went to Denmark Hill to see a David Hockney print exhibition with Marco, but first we had a walk in Dulwich Park and the first Ice-cream of the year.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Impressions from Oxford!

Last week we went to Oxford for the day, as my tutor is exhibiting there and we wanted to see it. My roadtrip curse broke half. We had hours of bright blue sky and sunshine, and times where the showers took over and wettened our feet. For a while we sought shelter in a cozy little bike cafe, until we again saw rays of sun on the building opposite.

Oxford was small, but as romantic and idyllic as imagined. I was surprised about the obvious amount of universities in the city, despite knowing that this is what Oxford is famous for. Most of the day was spend walking through the city, we saw a couple of museums and then it was time to take back the train.
