Du Wunderschöne......

So now the day has come, where I have to leave this wonderful city that for the past 1 1/2 year was my home. To come here is something I will never regret doing, I meet some great people and had so many wonderful experiences. I thank all who made it worth remembering.

BIS BALD!!!

They'll Never Take the Good Years!

So I spend my last night with Vincent going to the William Fitzsimmons concert. It was a shame I was a bit to tired, and that Astra was a bit to warm, cause the concert was really great. Depressing songs, or really depressing songs, a man with a big beard talking about buying razors for shaving his balls, cause his obviously didn't shave his face, but maybe his head. Great way to spend the night, and as a warm up to Roskilde.

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me!

So today Vincent and I went to blue crane in Stralau. After a couple of hard days with lots of goodbyes and packing it was nice to sit down quite, and have some Wurst from the Grill and Strawberries and wine. This was also my last Berlin Sunset, as I will not be able to see the sunset tomorrow, because I am going to the William Fitzsimmons concert. Can't wait!

This Is How The World Looks Like!

This is me in 2011

This is what thy sky looks like

This is the president of the United States

and the Prime minister of Denmark. At least for a while

This is what a political statement looks like

This is what Happy people looks like

This is what an Icon look like

and How a good song sounds like

And this is how the poster of a good movie looks like.

If you think I went to see "Beginners" last night, you are right. If you haven't seen it yet, just go! Then you will also be able to understand the meaning of this post.

A Heart With a Life Line!

Last night was the last time I was performing with "Das Keiner Ensemble". We showed "The Vanishing" and I played my Harmonica, knittingneedles, bird, made soundeffects with different things, and used these cool new microphones that Jason made himself. Among them was this heart shaped one.

Overweight!

It seams there is a pattern in the things people decide to give me for the moment. Tuesday, I got a late birthday present from Teal, which was "The Book of Jewish Food". I am looking forward to reading it as it does not only contain recipes but also history of the gastronomy.

Today I got a goodbye present from Claudia, who made a book with 444 pages. One for everyday we've been working together. It is really cute with lots of different styles of paper and a handwritten site number on every page. I really can't wait to put this into use as well.
Both will be in my suitcase when I go to London.

I do.....

One of the things that I am happy I had the chance to participate in before I leave Berlin was The Wedding of Teal and Malte. Most of the Tuesday evening and night, I spend with the girls preparing food for the party, cutting, roasting, mashing and baking. It was a really great experience to be able to help out and make it possible for them to have this celebration.

The party was held in the backyard, almost protected from the rain. With flowers, tee candles, music played by good friends and well tasting food, wine, good company and a lot of dancing.

Post Weawing Party!

For the last week, Claudia and I have been working hard to get the weaving stuff done in time for last nights party at her studio. The party was a presentation the dancing video we shot a couple of months ago, but also a little presentation of the weaved stuff that we did.
The video was projected on the window, and could be seen from inside and outside which was really beautiful together with the old building.

Like Being 7 Again!

A place that I have wanted to go almost since I saw it the first time over a year ago is the Spielwise. This cafe has boardgames, card games and other games from the floor to the ceiling.
For the great price of 3 euros you can play for as long as you like and change game as often as you like, while enjoying a beer, juice, candy or home made waffles. What better way to spend a public holiday afternoon than this?
When I came I started studying the games on the wall, and the guy in the place asked me what I was looking for. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but then I remembered this game that was my favorite game as a child, which we only had at my after school center. I didn't remember it's name but quickly after explaining about a forest, Christmas trees and fairytales he knew what I was talking about, so I knew that this was the first game of the day. And it was still fun. Kind of like a strategic memory game.
We also played a couple of other games, but this was definitely the highpoint of the day.

Trespassing on Devil Mountain!

So I spend today outside of town together with Vincent. We went to Teufelsberg, where we climbed the building, despite that both of us are suffering from Vertigo.
It was worth it though. The view over Berlin and Grunewald was amazing, and to be in this abandoned place only meet by few others who were also trespassing, and listening to the wind blowing inside the listening cubes. We didn't went up to the highest point, but the view and experience, from the point that we got to, was also quite fine.
After being in the building we sat down under a roof to cover from the beginning rain, and after 10 minutes we were meet by two guards in a car, who informed us that we were there illegally and that there was a fine. They let us go without the fine, I guess it was punishment enough that we got pretty wet on the walk back to the station.

Past, Present and Future!

Something I have wished for, for so long, is Chris Markers "La Jetée" ciné-roman. I a couple a days ago I got it as a total unexpected present, which are the best kind of presents.
La Jetée is my favorite movie. For tree reasons, it is a beautiful story about love combined with pictures and text, both equally poetic. It is shot in only still pictures, with only one motion picture in the 30 minutes, and therefore it also make sense, to publish it as a book.
The best thing is that there are pictures in the book which are not included in the movie and vise verse, and the text is written in both English and French.
If you have not seen the movie, I can recommend to do so (it was also the inspiration for "12 monkeys"). It is a beautiful movie, about love, life and time travel, which leave room for reflection long after it's over, and it only gets better the second time an third time etc.
